Wie versprochen gibt es hier das Update zum Thema  Item Dashboard.

(Ausnahmsweise mal in Englisch, Post wird auch anderswertig verwendet)

 

NAV 2009 SP1 - Item dashboard example

Hi all,

Some of you remember the sales dashboard published some months ago.

Based on this there was an idea to create also an Item Dashboard showing inventory, KPI example and a chart.

Waiting on Service Pack 1 the item dashboard is now ready and shows some new reporting capabilities:

"Drill Through a report"

 

You already know that it is possible to "drill through" a page from a report. The sales dashboard shows this example in navigate to the related task page from the report.

The item dashboard uses the new capability: It is based on 2 reports:

Base Report 1 is Item by location: 

Features:  Matrix control | Conditional Formatting | Drill Through report (with passing filter)

Report 2 Item Dashboard

Features: is called from Report 1 | KPI based on images | inventory based on images

Here are some explanations:

New report properties in SP1

EnableHyperlinks: Must be TRUE for report 1

EnableExternalImages: new property in SP1 using external images (is not used in these reports)

Enable Drill through a report and pass a filter

Similar to "drill through pages" you have to set the navigation properties. In case of navigate to a report you have to use (in this example)

Ok, all "other stuff" should be clear if you are using reporting services with NAV 2009 before SP1.

Hallo!  Hier ist ein Update für den Chart Wizard im RT Client sodass nun auch 3D Charts möglich sind zu erstellen.

Wie bereits erwähnt, und von einigen ja selbst auch ausprobiert, verwendet der RT Client in NAV 2009 Reporting Services als "Berichtsgenerator".

Dabei ist wichtig zu verstehen das es einen Report in NAV 2009 grundsätzlich nur einmal gibt. Ein Report kann allerdings optional 2 verschiedene Layouts haben. Kann er, muss er aber nicht.

Wird ein Report im klassischen Client gestartet wird das klassische Layout geladen und angezeigt. Wird der selbe Report im RT Client gestartet und existiert ein Layout aus Visual Studio (RDLC) dann wird der Bericht im Report Viewer Control des RT Clients angezeigt. (Bedeutet gleichzeitig das NAV 2009 die "clientbasierende" Variante von Reporting Services nutzt und keinen Berichtsserver  am SQL Server!!)

Existiert in diesem Fall kein Visual Studio Layout wird der Bericht mit dem klassischen Layout angezeigt. Für diesen Fall muss der klassische Client jedoch auf der Maschine installiert sein.

Was aber genau bringt RS nun  für Vorteile mit sich?

Gut, wie schon 100x in Präsentationen gesehen sind grafische Darstellungen in Form von Diagrammen möglich und dies ist ganz sicher ein nettes und brauchbares Feature, aber gibt es da "mehr"?

Die Antwort(en) ist/sind JA. Heute am Partner Round Table von NAV in Wien habe wieder einen Report gezeigt der einiges an Möglichkeiten wieder gibt.

Ich nannte ihn "Show what is possible Report" bzw. "Report Examples".

Ihr findet ihn nachstehendem zum Download. (Nicht wundern das in den Objekten auch 2 Pages sind. Diese werden vom Report für die Drill-Through Funktionalität verwendet)
